I have merged the blog template and the website template to create a common look and feel for all Project Mechanics sites. At the same time, I have started to use the Yahoo User Interface library more in my work. So far, I am a big fan of the YUI CSS classes. I have also had good luck with the TABS and MENU. I recently found a project on source forge which is 100% java based and does a very good job of generating Gantt charts. It uses an XML based file system to store all information on the project. It allows you to work on one project at a time, but given the ease of use and extensive reporting features, it is worth a look.
