Analysis

During the analysis process continuously collect and digest information for a true understanding of the requirements. Analysis activities are focused on rapid requirement validation and on generating functional specifications.

A functional specification describes how the solution will work. It doesn't care how the thing is implemented. It talks about features. It specifies screens, menus, dialogs, and so on. Analysis activities include:

• Following up on information requirements, conducting clarification meetings and reviews
• Facilitating functional specification sessions
• Creating functional specifications
